When it comes to ruling with elegance, great power and poise, no other civilization leader (including our modern-day presidents and prime ministers) can be compared to a pharaoh.
Now, you may be asking why we actually said that. This may sound a bit biased, but a pharaoh (including his wives) owns more glamorous clothing and jewelry than a Roman emperor. Kingship in the ancient Egyptian society is also closely associated with religion - each of their king is considered as a perfect combination of the divine and the mortal.
Now, who are these people who get such power, so overwhelming, that it immortalized them in history? Some of the most famous pharaohs of Ancient Egypt include Akhenaten, Cleopatra VII, Hatshepsut and Tutankhamun. Akhenaten became popular because of his attempts in compelling the Egyptian population in the monotheistic worship of Aten, although there are doubts as to how successful he was at this. His wife is also dubbed as “the most beautiful woman to have ever existed “ - Nefertiti.
Hatshepsut like the more famous Cleopatra, was a female pharaoh. But unlike Cleopatra who displayed fully her feminine abilities while in the throne, Hatsheptut wore kingly costume and the famous royal “false beard”, as portrayed in her monuments. Her records also referred to her as though she were male (probably in accordance with the accepted decorum of kingship).
There’s one obvious reason why we included Tutankhamun in our list: it’s simply because he IS (yes, up to this date) the most publicized Pharaoh. Just search for his name in Google and find out why.
